Hi there and welcome to my blog Sweet-Tooth Experiments!
This blog is centred around baking with delicious and interesting flavour combos as well as textures to uncover unusual bakegood gems. In addition, discover traditional sweet treats, opening up taste buds to different cultures and flavours from all over the world.
A who am I? I’m Ella, a 28-year-old Melbournian home cook with an addiction to baking.
Working in the busy corporate world of advertising can be quite time consuming and intense, where I find baking is a great way to relax, unwind, de-stress and have some fun.
My ideal lazy Sunday afternoon consists of getting into my kitchen and bake up an interesting ‘out of the norm’ recipe.
You will notice I am a bit of a fan of easy to make, minimal ingredients amazing tasting sweets. If you are after intense crazy 5-hour cakes with $100 worth of ingredients then this prob isn’t the site for you. If I can save effort and time without comprising taste I will opt for this every time.
I explore magazines, the Internet or cookbooks for recipes that I can create and change according to my flavour likings.
In addition, my family background is very food oriented with chefs and lovers of cooking peppered throughout. My mother is an exceptional cook, where from a young age introduced me to many cultural dishes and flavours (thanks mum for the best Tiramisu I have ever tasted in my life). My sister Alisha Tams, is a remarkable high-quality chef. She is a problem solver when things go South and always has sound advice.
My passion for baking is to experiment with different flavour combos as well as textures to uncover unusual bakegood gems. In addition I love to discover and bake traditional sweet treats, opening up my taste buds to different cultures.
Sweet Tooth Experiments will be hold my experiment outcomes, recipes, notes and comments. Where I also encourage you to engage and interact with me and hopefully even attempt yourself 🙂
Lastly, I really encourage you to recommend a recipe that you want me to test and blog about, I am always open to suggestions and welcome the challenge!
Baking can be so interesting.
